Notes 1.6 Keywords
Prepositional phrase : Phrase with a preposition as head (e.g., in love, over the rainbow)
Appositive : In renames noun as a pronoun and is always placed between cammas
(e.g., “Bob, my annoying neighbor, is short”)
Complexity : A complex phrase consists of several words, whereas a simple phrase
consists of only one words.
Antecedent : In the sentence “We saw a movie, after which we went dancing”
“movie” is the antecedent of “which”.
