                                •    Brave New World is Aldous Huxley’s fifth novel, written in 1931 and published in 1932.
                                •    Aldous Leonard Huxley was born on July 26, 1894 in Surrey, England, as the third son
                                     of Dr. Leonard Huxley and Julia Arnold.
                                •    Huxley’s career began in journalism and included music and artistic criticism as well as
                                     book reviews.
                                •    Huxley’s novel is chiefly a critique of the socialist policies that states had begun to
                                     advocate in the early twentieth century.
