Prarambhik Roop’. Durkhim has made clear in his explanation that religion has some social
functions, along with that it is the yield of social factors.
y There is some special feeling of fear, faith and devotion for Totam. It prohibits to kill, eat and
to hurt Totam by anyways and sorrow is expressed on its death.
y AS per Durkhim, Religion has many social works. And the first one is that religion divides
human life into two clear parts: Ordinary and Sacred.
