which both A and Bare to lake. B does not return the book in spite of A’s repeated demands
till the examination is over. A sues B for breach of contract and claims damages for the
inconvenience caused to him. B pleads absence of consideration for his promise to return
the book to A. Decide.
6. A guest, arriving late for dinner at a hotel, saw a number of ladies coats left in an ante-room
which was previously used as supervised cloak-room. At that time, however, there was no
attendant in the room, Nevertheless, she left her mink coat with the other coats. Whilst she
was dining, the coat was stolen. Is the hotel owner liable for the loss?
