                                                     Advanced power management (APM) is an API developed by Intel and
                                                     Microsoft and released in 1992 which enables an operating system running
                                                     an IBM-compatible personal computer to work with the BIOS (part of the
                                                     computer’s firmware) to achieve power management.

                                       6.6 Windows Accessories

                                       To start a Windows 98 applet, click the Start button and choose Programs » Accessories. Then
                                       click the applet of your choice. Any missing Windows 98 accessories can be reinstalled by
                                       using the Windows Setup tab in Add/Remove Programs. The applets are identical to their
                                       larger counterparts but possess limited capabilities and features.
