Notes z The second error message says that the URL does not have a DNS entry. This means that
the server whose name appears in the URL could not be found by the browser. The name
that appears in the URL that identifies the server must be translated to its IP address by
requesting a name server. The reason for the error can be that the name servers on the
Internet have no IP address for the given name or that the name sever does not respond
                                       within a predetermined time.

                                   10.1.4 Node

Hypertext can be seen as a network of nodes. A node is a collection of data organized around a
specific topic. This node is linked to another node, forming a network. Node is a fundamental
unit of hypertext. Other synonyms for node include frame, work space, card and lexia. On the
World Wide Web, a node is simply termed a Web page.

                                   10.1.5 Link

Links connect related concepts or nodes. They can be bidirectional thus facilitating backward traversals.
They are anchored in at their departure point to provide users with some explicit object to
activate in order to follow the link. The destination point is reached by activating the anchor.
Links may have other characteristics such as name, author, creation date and access rights.

                                   10.1.6 Semantic Network

It is a network which represents semantic relations between concepts. This is often used as a
form of knowledge representation. They support of semantic typing of links.

Example: The relationship between “cat” and “mamma;” might be described as “is A”.
