6.1.4 Rotation Transformation
The rotation transformation rotates the object by an angle θ . As shown in figure 6.6, the point
coordinate P = (x, y) is rotated by an angle θ . The rotation takes place with respect to the origin and in
counterclockwise direction. After rotation the point coordinate P is transformed to a new position P' =
(x', y').
