Introduction

Web Design is an art of content presentation to an end user through World Wide Web. Website
utilizes multiple disciplines such as animation, graphics, interaction design and information
architecture. It is a form of electronic publishing. Everything about your website – including the
content, the way it looks, and the way it works – is determined by the website design. Web
design is a process of conceptualizing, planning, and building a collection of electronic files that
determine the layout, colors, text styles, structure, graphics, images, and use of interactive
features that deliver pages to your site visitors. Professional web design helps to make your
business appear credible online.

10.1 Hypertext Links

Hypertext is text that references other text that the reader can tour, return to and reference
usually by a mouse click, key press or by touching the screen. It can be used to describe tables,
images and other presentational content forms using links between information called Nodes.
Hypertext defines the structure of the World Wide Web. It enables an easy-to-use and flexible
connection and sharing of information over the Internet. Hypertext documents can either be
static (prepared and stored in advance) or dynamic (changing in response to user input). Static
hypertext is what we generally to cross-reference collections of data in documents, software
applications, or books on CDs.
Mostly hyperlinks cause the target document to replace the document being displayed. Others
are marked to cause the target document to open in a new window. Another way that the
hyperlinks work is using the concept of transclusion which is the inclusion of a document or part
of a document into another document by reference.
