To enter an address in the location bar follow these steps: Notes
1. Point and click in the location bar. Delete the address that appears there.
2. Type a new address. such as http://www.hotmail.com
3. Press the Return key
To the right hand side of the Location bar, there is a button labeled with a triangle. By
clicking on the triangle, you will get a drop-down menu of addresses that you have visited
recently.
Many browsers no longer require you to type “http://www.”.
13.3.1 Book Marking
In web terminology, a bookmark is a record of Web page address. If you want to visit a
page again and again or to visit again a browsing page or to find the page again you can
bookmark it Most browsers also allow you to organize your bookmarks into a directory,
similar to the file folder directories in Windows. The processes for creating, organizing, and
accessing your bookmarks varies depending on the browser that you are using. Here are
a few examples of how to bookmark using Netscape Navigator 3, and Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.
Creating bookmarks:
1. Select the Bookmarks menu.
2. Select “Add Bookmark” from this menu
Organizing bookmarks:
1. Select the Bookmarks menu.
2. Select “Go to Bookmarks” from this menu. The Bookmarks window will open.
3. In the Bookmarks window, you can add or delete bookmarks, arrange bookmarks into
file folders, and place separators between groups of bookmarks.
Accessing bookmarks:
1. Select the Bookmarks menu.
2. Select the name of your bookmark from the menu, OR select “Go to Bookmarks” and
select your bookmark from your directory of bookmarks.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, bookmarks are called “favorites”.
Use your browser’s find feature to search for words within the current page.
1. Click the Edit menu and select “find”. A dialog box will open.
2. Type the text that you want to find into the dialog box. This is a verbatim search, so
you might want to keep your text brief. Notice that you may also choose whether or
not to make the search case-specific, and you can choose to search the page upward
or downward.
