Graphic Tools




                    Notes          z   Photoshop provides several tools for painting images. We can draw and color using the
                                       Brush tool and the Pencil tool. Tools like the Eraser tool, Blur tool, and Smudge tool can be
                                       used to modify the existing colors in the image.
                                   z   Photoshop offers a large selection of tools and features for retouching photographs and
                                       images. The retouching tools in Adobe Photoshop are: Clone Stamp, Pattern Stamp, Healing
                                       Brush, Patch and Color Replacement.

                                   4.5 Keywords

                                   Aliasing: The visual stair-stepping of edges that occurs in an image when the resolution is too
                                   low.
                                   Brush Tool: The Brush tool is a basic painting tool. It works like a traditional drawing tool by
                                   applying the color using strokes. It’s located in the standard Tool Bar and its default shortcut is
                                   the letter B.
                                   Gray Scale Image: A black and white image.

                                   Lasso Selection Tools: They allow you to make selections of irregular shapes.
                                   Marquee Tool:  It creates geometric, selection shapes like squares, rectangles, and circles of
                                   painting with water colour.

                                   Opacity: The Opacity value determines the extent of stroke applied with the Brush or Pencil
                                   Tool.
                                   Raster Image: It is made up of pixels (little squares) with a numerical value for their color.

                                   Refine Edge Tool: It helps you replace tricky backgrounds and fine details of a photo.
                                   Wet Edges: This option is available on the left side of the Brushes palette. It provides the effect.
