Introduction
Corel Corporation, from the abbreviation “Cowpland Research Laboratory” is a software
company specializing in graphics processing. It is known for producing software titles such as
CorelDraw which is an enormously powerful graphic design package used to create newsletters,
brochures, logos and web graphics. All characters on the “South Park” TV show are originally
created using CorelDraw and then exported to other graphics programs for animation.
8.1 Creation Tools
We will now discuss about the various types of tools used in CorelDraw to help create a vector
based graphic.
z Artistic Media Tool: The Artistic media tool treats a path as though it’s a skeleton to which
you can apply any number of CorelDraw preset skins. There are five different types of
artistic media brushes, some with preset variations (the Preset, Brush, and Sprayer artistic
media types) and some without presets (Calligraphic and Pressure artistic media types). It
helps to think of a paintbrush metaphor; by dragging strokes, you’ll wind up with anything
from complex filigree strokes to elegant calligraphic handwriting. The underlying path to
