Notes Blur Filters
Low Pass: Its used to delete sharp edges and detail from an image allowing smooth gradients
and low-frequency detail.
!
Caution Users can control the percentage and radius of the effect using the sliders.
Jaggy Despeckle: To minimize distortion of an image we use the Jaggy Despeckle filter. It creates
a soft and blurred final image.
Directional Smooth: It is used to find out the direction in which we need to apply the greatest
amount of smoothing, subtly smoothing edges and surfaces.
Zoom: The zoom filter lets users create an effect that blurs pixels outward from a center point on
an image. The amount of zoom can be handled at the user’s end.
Radial Blur: It gives an image a blurred effect that radiates from a central point. Users have the
options of repositioning the centre point, setting the intensity of the effect, choosing a blur node,
and setting the quality of the output.
Soften: Used to blur an image a little thereby retaining a high level of detail. The filter can be
applied to the entire image, or to part of it using a lens.
Colour Transform Filters
Bit Planes: To analyze gradients in images, we use the Bit Planes tool which reduces the image
to basic Red Green Blue (RGB) components and emphasizes tonal changes.
Halftone: It is an image that has been converted from a continuous tone image to a series of dots
of various sizes to represent different tones. In order to produce a wider range of colours the
screen angles can be adjusted.
Contour Filters
Find Edge: It locates and converts edges in an image to soft or solid fines. Soft fines create a
smooth, blurred outline, while solid lines create a sharp, crisp outline.
Trace Contour: It traces image elements using a 16-color palette. Users can set threshold level
and edge type.
Creative Effects
Crafts: It replaces image colors with puzzle pieces, gears, marbles, candy, ceramic tiles, or poker
chips.
Crystallize: It transforms images into crystal formations creating a geometric pixilation of
images in polygon forms.
Fabric: It reconstructs images by sampling main image colours and replacing them with
needlepoint stitches, quilt patches, rug hooking, strings, ribbons, or a tissue collage.
Frame: It applies irregular vignette borders to objects or images, resulting in a specified
background colour or transparency. It eliminates the need for extensive masking.
