8.5 Summary Notes
The General Alphabetical Catalogue (GAC) of books represents the main part of NLR
reference, incorporating catalogues of books, periodicals and serials, graphic and carto-
graphic publications, standards and other technical documents, author‘s published in Rus-
sian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, and in foreign European languages.
From 1725 to the present time General Alphabetical Catalogue, Contains bibliographic
records for books, periodicals and serials, graphic and cartographic publications, technical
standards and other technical documents, author’s abstracts of dissertations.
The Library offers computerized Catalogue Search Services though the OPAC (Online
Public Access Catalogue) interface of the VOLKS. The bibliographic records of more than
24,974 books available in the Central Library can be searched through this interface.
