6.5.12 Power Management Notes
Battery life is a major concern for mobile computer users. Windows 98 supports Advanced
Power Management (APM). It is a standard for laptop computers which supports the following
features of Windows 98.
• Battery indicator on the taskbar.
• Capability to put the laptop in suspended mode by clicking the Start button and
choosing the appropriate option from the menu.
• Capability to configure power management to shut down PC when shut down
Windows 98.
