                    Notes Scroll Bars

The scrollbars in PageMaker are set to the centre of each bar. They scroll the page you are
currently on. You can use the scroll bar on the right side to move up and down and the scroll bar
at the bottom to move left and right.

                                   Hand Tool

Hand tool is used to move the screen. This tool is very useful when you are working with large
documents. It helps you to easily navigate in a large page. To move a screen, just select the hand
tool and click and drag the page to view different parts of the page.

                                   Master Pages

A master is like a background that you can quickly apply to many pages. Objects on a master
appear on all pages with that master applied. Changes you make to a master are automatically
applied to associated pages. Masters commonly contain repeating logos, page numbers, headers,
and footers. They can also contain empty text or graphic frames that serve as placeholders on
                                   document pages.

Notes Elements on the Left (even-numbered) Master Page will display ONLY on Left
(even-numbered) document pages. Accordingly, Right (odd-numbered) Master Page
elements will display ONLY on Right (odd-numbered) document pages.

                                   Page Numbers

Click on the Left/Right Master Pages icon. Select the text tool from the Toolbox. Use the text tool
to click an insertion point on the page where you want the page number to appear. Type page,
then press Ctrl-Alt-P. This will cause the appropriate page number to appear on each page next
to the word, Page. On the master pages, a page number marker indicates where page numbers
will appear. Copy and place the text on the bottom of the right page.
