8.5.2 BigContacts

BigContacts is a software company that develops simple and affordable web based CRM
(Customer Relationship Management) software for small business.
BigContacts was designed for businesses that have outgrown basic solutions like Excel, Outlook
or ACT, but don’t want the cost and complexity of solutions like Salesforce.
Their software has proven to be an invaluable tool for small businesses. Today, they have the
privilege of helping several thousand small businesses around the world. This software is
making a real difference in the businesses that they serve.

8.5.3 bConnections

The application includes a web-based calendar that sales management can use to manage the
activities of all their reps. It also tracks leads and sales opportunities, to help you better prepare
sales forecasts. All activities are summarized in the application’s Executive Summary dashboard.

8.5.4 Apple MobileMe Contacts

Software Advice published a guide on Mac-based CRM software that includes SOHO Organizer
as a CRM solution. SOHO Notes currently syncs notes between multiple computers using Apple’s
Sync Services technology and MobileMe as the “go-between”. Interestingly, iCloud doesn’t
work with Apple’s Sync Services technology. Instead, iCloud introduces two new syncing
technologies: (1) document syncing; and (2) database syncing.

8.5.5 MailBrowser

Webyog’s MailBrowser is another CRM app that works with Gmail to provide additional data
about your contacts, and can automatically keep contact information up-to-date by pulling data
from emails. However, it doesn’t provide easy access to social network profiles or updates.
Unlike some of the other services here, MailBrowser is a locally installed app, so it may be a
better choice for users with privacy concerns. MailBrowser is free, and is available as an
IE plugin, Firefox add-on and Chrome extension.
In these days of below-the-line marketing, everyone should have a personal social-media CRM
independently to whatever CRM they have in their office. This reflects the blurring of the work
and play areas of life which is one of the recognised aspects of Generations Y and Z, as well as a
very natural result of the interactive technology.

8.5.6 Plaxo

Plaxo (www.plaxo.com) is an address book synchronising and backup tool which has a number
of interesting features such as the ability to access your contacts from the net, to import and
export as CSV files, to send greetings cards to check duplicates and synchronise in a limited way
with google applications, facebook and other social media.
