Notes 5.3 Purpose
1. Finding out and developing the source here required number and kind of employees are/

4 Stimulating as many candidate as possible and asking them to apply for jobs irrespective
of number of candidate required in order to increase the selection ratio (i.e., number of
application per one job vacancy) due to lower yield ratio.
5.3.1 Role Profiles for Recruitment Purposes
Role profiles, define the overall purpose of the role, its reporting relationships and key result
areas. They may also include the list of competencies required. They may be technical (skills and
knowledge required to do a specific job) and behavioural competencies attached to the role. The
profile also includes the terms and conditions (pay, benefits, hours of work, mobility, traveling,
transfers, training, development and career opportunities). Recruitment role provides the basis
for person specification.
5.3.2 Person Specifications
A person specification also known as recruitment, job or personnel specification is the essential
element on which the selection procedure is based. It is the sum total of education, training,
experience, qualification a person has to perform the job assigned to him.
When the job requirement have been specified, they should be categories under suitable heads.
The basic categories include qualification, technical and behavioural competencies (as given in
the figure below for the HR Officer).
