Commissioning: Commissioning is the process of planning, documenting, scheduling, testing,
adjusting, verifying, and training, to provide a facility that operates as a fully functional system
per the Owner’s Project Requirements.
Digital Media: Digital media is a form of electronic media where data are stored in digital (as
opposed to analog) form.
Electronic Data Interchange: Electronic data interchange (EDI) is a document standard which
when implemented acts as common interface between two or more computer applications in
terms of understanding the document transmitted.
Hardware: The machines, wiring, and other physical components of a computer or other electronic
system.
Library Management Software: It is an enterprise resource planning system for a library, used
to track items owned, orders made, bills paid, and patrons who have borrowed.
Management Information System: A management information system (MIS) provides
information that organizations require to manage themselves efficiently and effectively.
Online Public Access Catalogue: An online public access catalogue is an online database of
materials held by a library or group of libraries.
Software: Organized information in the form of operating systems, utilities, programs, and
applications that enable computers to work.
System Software: System software is a program that manages and supports the computer
resources and operations of a computer system while it executes various tasks such as processing
data and information, controlling hardware components, and allowing users to use application
software.
Training: Organized activity aimed at imparting information and/or instructions to improve
the recipient’s performance or to help him or her attain a required level of knowledge or skill.
Troubleshooting: It is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or
processes.
