1.4.1 Differences
Packaging of information is a physical recording, arrangement and presentation of information on a
given medium and in a given form.
Repackaging of information is rearrangement of physical media in which information has been
presented, which is tailored to the requirements of a specific clientele.
1.4.2 Aim
In other words, repackaging of information refers to the presentation of information in more
understandable, readable, acceptable and usable forms.
The aim of repackaging is to enhance the acceptance and use of information products and the
assimilation and recall of their contents.
1.4.3 Functions
The functions served by repackaging of information are:
(1) As a saving tool.
(2) As a systematic and selective sorter of useful information.
(3) As a means for more extensive information transmission and delivery.
