uksV In ancient days the relation between the teacher and the taught was very good. The
students used to stay with their teacher in those days. They spent their whole stu-
dent-life with the family of the teacher. Apart from receiving education, they consid-
ered service to their teacher to be their own duty They used to bring fire wood, cook
food or participated in other household work. The teacher also loved his students. Like
a tactful father, he kept watch over the everyday life of his students. The result was
that the students became not only scholars but they were also men of character.

We should live a simple life. But it is not an easy thing. Let us take an example. We all
know that we should take simple food and that we should never eat too much. But we
are not able to follow this rule all the time. We fall ill because of this. We should be
regular in our food in order to enjoy good health. Nobody can do anything in the world
                                 without good health.

I met a rickshaw-puller yesterday. His name is Ramu. He has a large family. His
condition is pitiable. He has to pull the rickshaw from morning till evening. It has
affected his health very badly. At times he coughs and spits out blood. But he is help-
less. He has no helper (or, supporter). If the stops work, the members of his family
                                 will die of hunger.
